About Hobberdy Dick, the novel~

I've been looking for this book for ages!

Hobberdyy Dick, published in 1955 written by Katherine Briggs, is about the hobgoblin who protects his host family who live at Widford Manor, is really a classic of English children's writing. The way to release the house elf is to offer him a cloth from the host family.

Thinking of Dobby, the house elf of the Malfoys in Hoarry Potter. But he is a bit different to other house elves--he dreams of freedom, so at the end of the story Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Dobby is set free by giving a sock from his host~

It's a really nice choice to realize the traditional English fairy tale, but it's really really old, too hard to be found, even on the internet! So if anyone ever saw it, please tell me, ok? Thank u very much!

P.S. Hobberdy Dick gets its Japanese name called 妖精ディック.
